Please note these are INTERNSHIP POSITIONS and not a paid positions. I would be delighted to pass on any knowledge I have, and will do my best to educate and assist where I can, including sharing assets, demonstrating skills, and critiques of your own work if desired!
Looking to learn how comics are made? Wanting some experience for your portfolio? You’ve come to the right place! Internship positions are currently open for coloring assistants for Wrong About the Stars! Internships for other Godsent Comics titles may open at a later date.
To apply, you must download and color the provided illustration.
You will be provided with brushes, the series color palette, and the file with the inks. The illustration file is set up the way all pages are during production. Your task is to take these inks…
And color to match the style of the series!
I will add final details such as pencils on top, any special effects, etc.
Your version doesn’t have to look like mine. The important part is that it meshes with the rest of the series, which has a watercolor and alcohol-based marker feel. Please reference pages on Tapas and Webtoon if needed.
The colors don’t have to be perfectly laid down! Areas of white peeking through are part of the style.
Upon receiving your submission of the colored illustration (in PSD form), if you’re a good match, you will be provided a full page to color. This page is purely for practice purposes, and to further gauge how well you handle the style.
A coloring video demo is available on my YouTube channel here, providing explanations and demonstrations of my techniques and answering many potential questions.
Link to Google Drive folder containing brushes, color palette, inks file, etc. can be found here.
Questions and finished submissions may be emailed to godsentcomics@gmail.com
– Time to color at least one full comic page per week.
– Procreate on iPad and a pressure-sensitive stylus OR any art program that can export PSDs or PNGs. This will depend upon what series you are applying to work on.
– Ability to open, edit, export and transfer large files (often around 3300 x 4300 px or 3300 x 5100 px, always at least 300 dpi. I usually use Google Drive, but other arrangements can be made).
